Chimbu–Wahgi languages
The Chimbu–Wahgi languages are a family of the Trans–New Guinea languages in the classification of Malcolm Ross.
There is little doubt that the Chimbu–Wahgi family is valid. The internal structure according to Ethnologue is:
- Chimbu–Wahgi family
- Chimbu branch: Chuave, Dom, Golin, Kuman (Chimbu), Nomane, Salt-Yui, Sinasina
- Hagen branch
- Jimi branch: Maring, Narak, Kandawo
- Wahgi branch: Nii, Wahgi, North Wahgi
